Featuring Salsa, a Dance Story from Origins: Dawn Dance Stories by Modern Living Guide, brought to life through the creative interpretation of designer Ekele Stephen.

Born from Original Dawn × Dawn Canela, Salsa brings two familiar expressions of Dawn together within a new geometric composition of repetition, direction, contrast, and movement.

Drawing inspiration from Salsa’s transnational cultural journey, shaped by Caribbean and Latin influences and its remarkable development in New York, the design reflects the central idea behind Dance Stories: familiar expressions of Dawn finding new rhythm through movement and composition.

The original Dawn geometry and the Canela color story alternate through vertical and horizontal arrangements, creating a repeating visual rhythm across the design. Neither expression disappears. Instead, they move together—transforming two established members of the Dawn family into something new.

Now, Color Finds Its Rhythm.

Designed for lightweight comfort, versatility, and everyday movement, the Origins: Dawn Salsa Lightweight Neck Gaiter carries this new expression of Dawn across a flexible multifunctional accessory. It can be worn around the neck or face or styled as a headband, head covering, scarf, armband, wristband, or beanie for outdoor activities, travel, exercise, and everyday wear.

Crafted from moisture-wicking polyester microfiber, the Salsa Lightweight Neck Gaiter features a stretchy, breathable construction, lightweight 130 g/m² fabric, UPF 50+ sun protection, and strong overlocked seams.

About the Design

Origins: Dawn Salsa continues the journey of Dawn.

The story began with Original Dawn, a balanced geometric composition inspired by heritage, craftsmanship, nature, and contemporary living.

Dawn Canela followed as one of eight Spice Stories, transforming the character of the original pattern through color while preserving its underlying geometry and rhythm.

Now, the two come together.

Original Dawn × Dawn Canela becomes Salsa.

Through a shared checkerboard composition, alternating orientations create repetition, direction, contrast, and visual movement. Drawing inspiration from Salsa’s transnational cultural journey through Caribbean and Latin influences and its remarkable development in New York, the composition gives two familiar expressions of Dawn a new contemporary identity.
